The Story of the Shooting Star

Well this is it folks, my last DT assignment for Scrap Friends - made for the fabulous colour challenge which is going on at the moment. Can you make sense of the title? It's a little tricky. It's supposed to read, "Laugh in the face of set back. Delight in your destiny". But it all got a little jumbled. Never mind.

This is the yummy colour palette I was working with. Fabulous combination as always I'm sure you would agree. Certainly these are my types of colours! I had no trouble pulling a bunch of my favourite supplies out to use on this page. I'm in love with the new Pickled Raspberry Distress Ink that I used to stamp those arrows and colour my title.
All the DT girls have gone out with a bang - there's some fabulous inspiration pieces over on the Scrap Friends blog. And the Guest DT's have really sparkled too :-) It's been marvellous designing for Scrap Friends over the last 8 months, but it's going to be just as fun taking part in the challenges as a participant now ('cos there's no way I'm missing out on using those fab sketches!)

I'm kinda still chuckling when I look at this photo. It was taken after church one week when Munchy had made a crown which says "born for such as time as this". When I asked to take a photo she instantly arranged herself into a pose. But I guess that's what you get when you've been performing hard at multiple end-of-year concerts we've had to get through participate in lately.

I'm so proud of this little girl of mine. Not only has she had staring roles in her school concert, her dance concert and the church concert, but today on her last day of school we found out she was being awarded the "Shooting Star of the Year Award" for being the most outstanding student in her class!!

She was super-excited at receiving her medal at assembly and has barely taken it off since. And I couldn't be happier, which explains the tears welling up....
