Oh Janome

Another layout share with you today of one that I created a couple of months ago, but never got around to sharing here on my blog.

I don't often do layouts of inanimate objects, but I do believe in capturing the memories and this poor old sewing machine (may she rest in peace) has a lot of memories behind it. It had been passed from my grandmother, to my mother and then onto me, but alas she will only be passed on to the garbage dump from here :-)

I know my mother used it to create many a matching outfit for me and my sister. And I taught myself to sew on it as a young girl (by then mum had declared her dislike of sewing, so she taught me how to thread it, and then left me to my own devices). It's probably a surprise it actually lasted this long!

It seemed entirely fitting that I finally use my Prima canvas dress-form on this page. And I made a little skirt for her with some gorgeous Little Yellow Bicycle Fresh Print Clothesline papers. Some of the other embellishments and the alphas are from this range too. Otherwise all the other supplies are from Pink Paislee's Queen Bee collection.

  1. This LO is very pretty;0) I do not normally capture items of mine either. It may be a good idea though so my children will have my favorite things to take along with them. I love the dress!
