All Mine

I'm working with the glorious new Upcycle collection from Cosmo Cricket this month for Handmade by Suzanne.  The colours in this range are just my style, I like to call them 'vintage brights' but probably there's a better/more accurate way to describe them :-)

The first thing I did was to pop on over to the Cosmo Cricket blog to load up on some eye-candy and search for inspiration from the experts. And that's just what I got!

They've got a sketch competition going at the moment to get published in Scrapbook Trends magazine. How awesome would that be? And the sketch is something quite amazing and instantly inspiring to me.

Something else that Cosmo does really well is handmade flowers, so I had to include a couple here on my layout. I cut the petals from the semi-circles in the Re:Peat paper, folded them up for some dimension and cut stems from the Elements paper.

I had this funny photo of Little Moodles with her finger in her belly-button and I was trying to come up with a title or some journaling to describe what was going on. The Man was throwing suggestions as my "You push my buttons" was the best he came up with, but didn't sound quite right! Then I spotted this tag from the Elements paper and it was just perfect for my title.

I stamped some clouds onto the Re:Design paper and layered them across the top as the sketch suggested. And when faced with a tiny area of white space that just looked too blank for my liking I headed straight to my favourite embellishment......bunting - cut from the happy polka dots on the Re:Verse paper. And just like that, the page was complete. Sounds easy doesn't it? Truth be told, it took me nearly all day :-)

  6. Hi Natalie. I am going to put my thoughts out there and say that I think you are in with a very good chance. Out of all the layouts I saw there yours represents Scrapbokk Trends the most, its the most artistic, appealing to the eyes and "publishable" layout. I wish you luck. I want to give this a go, my my style is not suited to ST so maybe I would be wasting my time. I would find it very hard not to add layers etc etc which are not desirable to ST...lol. So anyway...just wanted to share what I thought. I will be so happy to see your name picked..good luck!
