My favourite outfit

No, not on me, but on my baby!

I consider myself a quite organised person. And sometimes I am extremely grateful for that. Like the fact that I had packed my hospital bags in advance for when I was to go into labour with No.2 girl. I had previously thought that if this labour was going to be anything like it was with No.1 girl then I would have plenty of time to pack once my contractions started. It took 39hours of contractions before No.1 girl was born. But I'm very glad I ignored that impulse and stuck with my nesting impulse (which was to get everything ready). Because this time the labour lasted less than 2 hours. I was lucky to even make it to the hospital.

Anyway, why am I telling you this? Just because this layout reminds me of when I was packing my hospital bags I had to make all those choices about what clothes to pack for the new baby. What would be the first outfit she would wear? Should she be dressed all in pink (since we knew she was a girl?) Or should she wear the lovely white outfit her sister had as her first clothes? Oh the choices! And in the end it didn't really matter much, because after the birth I was so exhausted I seemed to be incapable of making any kind of decision, and I just let my husband dress her in whatever he wanted!

So being colour blind, I can only assume he chose this bright purple onesie because it was something that jumped out at him! But I love it ultimately. All snuggled up in this tiny little package (not so tiny really) was my new baby daughter.
