Not Always Easy

I have to admit that although I am loving the fact that I'm finally signed up for the Studio Calico kits, I wasn't that impressed with the second kit I received which was 'Continental'. But I know that you can't suit all the people all the time, and when you subscribe you have to expect that you're not going to adore every single kit. So I've only made one lone layout so far with this kit - and it was months ago. (And never fear because the next three kits after this one have been incredible and I can't wait to get my hands on them. I haven't got them yet because of the arrangement I've made with a friend as we subscribe together...... long story!)

However, it did come just at the right time for something. I had just been cleaning out the closets in order to pack and move houses and came across some long lost photos of me from high-school. For example - this photo is our Year 11 Chemistry class (that's me second from the right in the back row). And the colours in these Girl's Paperie On Holiday papers and the general theme of the kit were absolutely perfect! I was also really happy with the fact that I had just purchased the notebook punch at the same time - another perfect embellishment for this page!

Umm.... yes... I didn't realise my 'A' had shifted when I took the photos of the layout until I uploaded them :-)

And I'm impressed with my own cleverness at cutting out those numbers from the paper to incorporate into the catchy title from the Jackson 5ive song "ABC, it's easy as 1,2,3"

But overall..... still don't really like this layout.
Oh well. You win some, you lose some!!

  1. lol..it isnt that bad, its actually a good layout. maybe its not your usual style? I know what you mean about Studio Calico, after deliberating FOREVER i finally subscribed to their kits and received my first one Take 40 a month ago ..It was good, very good. But maybe I exoected better? But I was left with A LOT of paper and not many embellishments to go with it. Like you said, you cant please everyone all the time. have a great day.

  2. For a layout you don't like you sure did a pretty great job. I am loving how you made those flowers with the stamping underneath. I have a lot of this kit leftover, too - but overall, I did like it. I feel like I just haven't found the right photos yet. The last 2 haven't been my faves but I do love the stamps and the little gems here and there. And there's nothing like getting that box of goodies in the mail every month :)
btw..Thanks so much for your sweet comments Natalie!!
