The Story of Painting in the Rain

With my week off work I was looking around for some fun challenges to do to fill in my scrappy time (seeing that I'm all up to date with my DT work.. YAY me!)

I came across the Aussie Scrap Jack blog which is under new management and has moved location, and they're running their first challenge to scrapjack one of Natalie May's amazing layouts.

Well who wouldn't be inspired to play along? I just loved the rainbow of painty drips and instantly wanted to have an attempt at that myself. But you know I'm not much of a flower-girl so I dug into my stash and came up with some Pink Paislee Artisan border strips instead. I knew they would take the mist perfectly.

Since it was such an arty background I wanted to pair it with an equally 'arty' photo and this one I captured of Moodles painting outside in the rain fit perfectly. She loves to paint, and she has her own mini-easel outside which she often begs me to let her use. On this day things started out fine and she was happily painting away but unfortunately it started to rain. I figured that was the end of that, but no... she simply grabbed an umbrella and kept right on painting. Pure dedication I say!

The rainy theme was a great excuse to add my favourite FWAB Up in the Sky stickers over the top of some stencilled raindrops. That's my touch of bling (inspired by Natalie's silver rhinestones) Love the vibrancy of this layout - I'm thinking I almost need to wear my sunglasses just to look at it. LOL :-)

And speaking of sunshine and Spring time (which we weren't really... but that's what's on my mind!) I've got a Spring Giveaway going on right now if you want to throw your hat into the ring? The details are all here.
