The Story of a Sunset River Cruise

When I saw the Heidi Swapp Memory File in my May Studio Calico kit I knew I had to use it for something special. It was just made for telling the whole story right?

It's pretty much like including a mini-album on a page. I filled it with all the details of our adventure (in this case our Christmas Riverboat Cruise), plenty of photos, lots of journaling... and then just plop it onto a layout so I can still put this into my scrapbook album.

I love the look of those little details peeking out between the pages. It's so inviting... makes me want to flip open each page in turn and discover the joy it contains.

My main ingredients on the inside are all the Echo Park goodies that came in both my Studio Calico kit and my Jenni Bowlin kit that came the same month. I guess great minds think alike :-)

I stuck to mainly blues and neutrals to reflect my theme, but still couldn't resist a splash of pink for the girls! And if you scroll back up to my top photo, did you notice the fabulous FWAB Antique Gold flourish? I thought it nicely represented the idea of rolling waves (although in actual fact the River was quite still and peaceful!)

This month at Flourish With a Bling the challenge is to use a Memory File or Storage Pocket on your layout. You don't need to use the Heidi Swapp products like I did (although I highly recommend them.... I soooo want to do this again!) but the idea is just to tuck away some memorabilia somewhere.

You can see some other ideas of what the DT girls came up with, and check out all the challenge guidelines here on the FWAB blog. And because every great challenge needs a great prize - check this out.....

Hope you'll join us?
