Pheww... it's been a busy week around these parts. Which is always the way when you're on holidays isn't it? I no longer have any illusions that my annual leave will be restful and relaxing. Especially not if I'm going to take them over the Easter school holidays! I've travelled over 2000km in a week, been to 3 states, been sick with 2 different things (bleeghh), gone to a wedding, played plenty of poker, caught up with old friends, scrapped 3 layouts and a special project.... and consumed more than my fair share of chocolate.
One thing I managed to do before I started my journey was this Easter page for the current challenge at Flourish With a Bling. What I love best about our monthly challenges there is that it changes every time so you never know what it's going to be next.
For April it's an Inspiration challenge, and this is the bright and fabulous piece we've set to inspire you! It's easy to see what direction I went in when I sat down to do my layout.
For one, I just loved the saturated colour scheme. I used the green as my dominant colour, just as in the photo, then added splashes of all the others; pink, red, blue and yellow. Your layout doesn't have to be an Easter one, but it's an obvious choice! I'm sure you've all got plenty of photos to scrap from last week?
Every year we have a tradition in our family for a giant Easter egg hunt. It started when I was a kid and has gone on so long now that my own kids are now taking part (and loving it!!) My Mum and Dad still live on our family farm which allows plenty of hiding spots over a vast area. They hide about 200 miniature chocolate eggs and then the rest of us go crazy seeking them all out again.
To match the colour scheme on my page I used the FWAB Chloe flourishes in both Olive Green and Blue. The very same Olive Green one can be won as part of the prize package below. All the details for the challenge can be found here on the FWAB blog. It would be great to see some of my followers taking part in the challenge this month ;-)

Lovely LO, especially like how you've used the butterflies....your DD's are sooo cute! And what a wonderful idea for Easter! Lot of traveling you've been doing, but I guess it will slow down once school goes back:):):)
ReplyDeleteBright and Beautiful. Super layout! Love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's impressive that you are getting thoughts from this article as well as from our argument made at this time.
