The Story of Splash Painting

I'm back baby! My big exam is over (at least I hope so.... it's 6 weeks until I find out if I've passed ;-) which means I've got a lot of guilt-free scrapping to accomplish!

Did you know that we often run games on the Jenni Bowlin Mercantile forum? I was disappointed to miss out on the Valentine's Donkey Kong that just finished, but there's nothing to stop me now we've just released our latest game....... Scattergories!

What's it all about you say? Well you choose your letter (or get the random letter generator do it for you) then the challenge is to make a page where all your products begin with that letter. You can be as creative as you like. For example Doris has the letter 'D' and she claimed that staples can also be called "double-pronged metal fasteners"! Sure ;-)

Apart from that the only other rule is to include at least one product that's JBS. And everyone goes into the draw for a $25 JBS Mercantile gift voucher when the challenge ends on March 16th!

Can you guess what my letter was by the way? I'll give you a hint... it's to do with my colour scheme ;-) And are you also wondering what Splash Painting is?! It's a self-invented messy outdoor kid activity where I filled some tubs with watered-down acrylic paint. Then I gave my girls baby-wipes instead of paint brushes. The idea is to get the wipes soaking in paint so you can drip and flick and splash it onto your paper! Totally fun ..... unless you don't like mess....

Speaking of Jenni Bowlin, there was a lovely JBS feature on the Aussie Scrap Source blog this week. A couple of my pages were shown there! Whooop!!

PS. I'm afraid I didn't explain myself very well in my last post and a few of you asked what 'Vine' was. It's an app that's very similar to Instagram, but instead of uploading and sharing photos, you upload looped 6-second videos. All my posts so far have been scrappy related, but I'm sure my kids are going to sneak into a video or two shortly! My user name is 'natalieelph' if you want to look me up.

Blog Hop Winner and other things..

So it's time to draw the winner of my Evalicious Blog Hop prize. I did it in my usual fashion (which is to throw the bunch of entrants at my daughter and for her to randomly pick a number). So the winner is......

Congratulations Jas&#39!!
Email me your shipping address and I'll get your prize out to you ASAP.

And just so you don't think that by my lack of posts around here that I'm not doing anything, here's what I've been up to this week since I've been able to scrap guilt-free..

Yes, I've joined Vine. And I've posted a few videos, including this walk through of my Evalicious Stamp Book where I keep track of my delicious collection of red rubber. My user name is 'natalieelph'. Look me up!

Flourish With a Bling are combining forces with another fabulous Australian manufacturer and I've been crafting up a storm. Here's a little sneak peek. See if you can guess who it is?!

I'm in the process of editing another video tutorial. I'm so excited about this one :-)

And I've been putting my Silhouette to good use - cutting out whole phrases! I can't wait to share this page with you, but with any luck it's going to be quite a while before I can yet ;-)

Hope you're enjoying your weekend,

My personal favour to you

The Evalicious Blog Hop is still going on for a couple more days. See my post here.

For a lot of people Valentine's Day means celebrating with all things glittery and blingy.
I agree!!
Personally I'm not so much into diamonds and jewellery and romantic escapades, but I do feel obliged to let you in on a little sparkly secret.....

Flourish With a Bling have just gone RETAIL baby!!

That means you can buy all your favourite FWAB products straight from their website and get it delivered direct to your door.

To entice you even further they've not only put together some fabulous Value Packs, but for the first 50 people who order a Value Pack they'll also throw in some free bling! You just need to mention where you found out about FWAB (say me!!)

Here's some of my favourite ones:

but there's heaps more to chose from too! Just go on over and check it out :-)

And hopefully to inspire you even more, I'm leaving you with some links to a handful of my past projects featuring Flourish With a Bling so you can see just how versatile they are.

Evalicious blog hop

Hello and welcome to the first ever Evalicious blog hop!

We're so glad you've joined in the fun and I'm sure you've been getting plenty of eye-candy and inspiration along the way. You should have hopped over from Michelle's blog but if you've just stumbled here by chance then I recommend you click to the Evalicious blog and start there. Eve has the most amazing grand-prize on offer for one lucky winner who signs up to follow the Evalicious blog and posts a comment. But some of the other stops have prizes along the way too so you need to do the full circuit (look below for your chance to win a prize from me!)

As February is the month of love in most countries we thought we would celebrate romance and share with you some love-themed projects along our blog-hop. Eve has a variety of products that are suitable for the occasion, and I've chosen to work mainly with the Love You Lots collection.

I used one of the Love You Lots 3x4 Tag as the base for my embellishments, and layered things up from there. Both the gold circle tag and the grey "this is awesome" are from the Love You Lots Miscellany Tags. I just love the typographical appeal of these.

In my opinion, a project is never complete without a badge button so I've added one from the older Vintage Valentine collection. This card is going to my daughter's school teacher whose name is Miss Peacock so now you know why I've decorated it this way!

And just while I'm on the subject of real-life, you should know that I have my fair share of craft fails. The first card I attempted (with the same basic products) for this blog hop really didn't quite come up to scratch. But because I'm feeling very honest I thought I'd give you a quick peek of that one too. This one just might have to go to my husband because he'll tell me he loves everything I do ;-)

Now here's the fun bit.... Since I'm also going for a bit of a school-theme I'm offering one of our lucky hoppers today the chance to win your very own set of Evalicious School's Cool badge buttons!

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post, and I'll draw a winner next Saturdray the 16th and post it here on my blog. That gives you one week to get your entries in. Internationals are very welcome. I'm very likely to throw some extra goodies in your parcel as well ;-)

Your next stop along the way is the fabulously talented Theresa's blog (well.... Theresa's dog does the writing actually... don't be alarmed!) and don't forget to visit the Evalicous blog to win the grand prize! Happy hopping!

PS. Evalicious is now on Facebook and Twitter! You can like Evalicious on Facebook or follow Evalicious on Twitter (or both) to get the latest products, inspiration, and tutorials from Evalicious!

PPS.  shopEvalicious.com is taking a shipping break between feb 10 - march 2 so if you've been eyeing something in the shop, go and order it RIGHT NOW!

The Story of the New Washing Machine

Yes folks, it just keeps on getting more and more exciting around here doesn't it? First I enthralled you with the tale of the head-lice, and now it's all about the new laundry appliances. Rivotting blogging hey?!

As any good housewife would know (not that I am one. Neither a housewife, nor a good one!) it's essential to have a functioning washing machine. And when your ol' faithful packs it in and calls it a day it's important to replace it as soon as possible!

Because washing clothes is one of those chores that really simply must get done every single day. Especially with young kids who potentially go through 2 or 3 changes of clothes a day.
Wash, rinse, spin. Repeat.
That's why I knew documenting this monotonous daily activity was going to be perfect for the My Mind's Eye Groundhog Day Challenge. In the movie he keeps repeated the same thing over and over, and so that's what I wanted to scrap about. Something that I do every day.

Firstly I thought about going to work and all the stuff I do there. Then I realised that delivering babies is really quite exciting.... and plus I don't think the photos from my point of view are really scrapbook worthy ;-) But just as important is the home-me. The me who looks after our family. Who cooks (sometimes) and cleans and bathes and feeds and cuddles and puts-ice-packs-on and screams at them and loves them whole-heartedly and ..... washes their clothes.
Every Single Day.

It's still supposed to be a bright and happy topic so I used my favourite MME collection - Alphabet Soup, with a good sprinkling of Lost and Found thrown in too.

Now I know I have missed out on blogging here in a little while. But I've been around! Yesterday my first Evalicious blog post went up. It's another 8.5 x 11" page documenting Munchy losing her first tooth. Check it out here

And I've also got a video tutorial up on the Scrap Friends blog all about how to incorporate stamps and ink techniques into your pages. You can see it here.

Plus, I'm gearing up for the excitement that's coming by this little blog of mine on the weekend. Chooo choo!!
