I made this using the Crate Paper February sketch because 1) I love Crate Paper and have a bit of a stash of it to get through! 2) the sketch spoke to me and 3) I really admire Emily Pitts and she never ceases to inspire me.
But of course, the sketch had to work for me, not the other way around and I found myself wanting to use this portrait photo of Munchy rather than a landscape photo as the sketch calls for. So I needed to adjust things slightly.
I pulled out all my various Crate papers - because that's what they are now, no longer full or even partial collections. More like a random gathering of supplies. I decided to go with a cream/aqua/red colour scheme which allowed me to choose the papers to coordinate, even though they actually came from 5 different collections!!
Oh my, those gorgeous pink glittery Thickers that came in the February Studio Calico kit are just glorious, and totally fit right in here! And here's where my layout was directly inspired by this one that Emily Pitts did for Studio Calico a couple of months ago. Giant speech bubbles? Genius!!
Must have worked too - because although I didn't win the challenge, this layout was featured along with a few other 'honourable mentions'.
High aspirations for my 4-year-old!
Yes, I really love Crate Paper and I'm liking Studio Calico too so your l/o appeals to me.
